The chemical composition of this nickel steel alloy is designed to provide excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. It is similar to Alloy 800, but has better water corrosion resistance. It has excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids, stress corrosion cracking, and local corrosion (such as pitting and crevice corrosion). Incoloy 825 is particularly resistant to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. This nickel-steel alloy is used in chemical processing, pollution control equipment, oil and gas well pipelines, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production and pickling equipment.
