Product Overview

ASTM A213 T5 seamless tube is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel tube specified for boiler, superheater and heat-exchanger service. Grade T5 is identified as UNS K41545 and contains approximately 4.00-6.00% chromium and 0.45-0.65% molybdenum according to ASTM A213 requirements.

The Cr-Mo alloy composition provides a combination of elevated-temperature strength and resistance to oxidation compared with conventional carbon steel tubing. The seamless construction is suitable for pressure-containing heat-transfer equipment where welded seams are not preferred.

The tubes can be supplied in hot finished or cold finished conditions according to the applicable specification and purchase requirements.

Manufacturing Process

Steel Billet → Hot Piercing → Seamless Rolling → Heat Treatment → Sizing → Straightening → Cutting → Inspection → Marking → Packaging

For hot-finished tubes, the seamless forming process can be followed by sizing and heat treatment to achieve the required dimensions and mechanical properties.
