Nickel Alloy Tube, ASTM B983 UNS N07718 (Inconel 718H), Precipitation Hardened or Cold Worked
ASTM B983 specification covers high strength, seamless pipe and tube of nickel alloys, Pipe and tube shall be supplied in the cold worked or cold worked and precipitations hardened or solution annealed plus precipitation hardened and descaled conditions. When atmosphere control is used, descaling is not necessary.
Nickel Alloy Tube manufactured in accordance with ASTM B983 standard, with material designation UNS N07718 (Inconel 718H). This alloy is a precipitation-hardening nickel-chromium-iron based superalloy. The 718H version undergoes a specific aging heat treatment to achieve higher strength and creep resistance than conventional Inconel 718. The tube can be seamless or welded, offering excellent high-temperature strength, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. It is widely used in aerospace, gas turbines, nuclear reactors, deep-sea applications, and chemical industries under high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive environments.

2. Key Adventages
Exceptional High-Temperature Strength: Strengthened by γ' phase precipitation, it maintains extremely high strength even under harsh conditions up to 815°C (1500°F).
Superior Creep Resistance: At 700-750°C and 100MPa stress, its creep life far surpasses that of similar alloys, crucial for ensuring the long-term safe operation of ultra-supercritical power plants.
Excellent High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance: High chromium (approximately 25%) and cobalt (approximately 20%) content provides resistance to oxidation, carburization, sulfidation, and coal ash/flue gas corrosion at high temperatures.
Excellent Microstructural Stability: Through compositional optimization (increasing Al and decreasing Ti, Nb, and Si), harmful phases are less likely to precipitate during long-term service, ensuring long-term performance reliability.
3. Key Applications
Aerospace: Engine casings, turbine disks, blades, rings, combustion chamber components
Gas turbines: High-temperature piping, seals, fasteners
Nuclear industry: Reactor internals, control rod guide tubes
Petrochemical: Sour service (H₂S/CO₂) downhole tubing, wellhead equipment, heat exchanger tubes
Deep-sea engineering: Subsea connectors, umbilical tubes
Automotive: High-temperature turbocharger lines
