ASTM A213 T9 Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tube, Cold Drawn U-Bend Tube For Nuclear Power Plant
ASTM A213 T9 is a seamless ferritic alloy steel tube, composed of 9% chromium and 1% molybdenum (9Cr-1Mo), specifically designed for high-temperature heat exchanger services. The cold-drawn manufacturing process ensures precise dimensional tolerances, a smooth surface finish, and enhanced mechanical properties, which are critical for demanding nuclear power applications.
When formed into a U-bend configuration, these tubes effectively accommodate thermal expansion, reduce stress on tube sheets, and enable a compact heat exchanger design. The T9 material offers excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation, steam corrosion, and creep deformation, making it suitable for secondary heat exchangers and auxiliary systems in nuclear plants where operating temperatures can reach up to 595°C. Additionally, each U-bend tube undergoes stress-relief heat treatment to eliminate residual bending stresses, ensuring long-term reliability and safety in nuclear power generation.
Advantages of ASTM A213 T9 Alloy Steel Heat Exchanger Tube
Excellent high-temperature & creep resistance
Stable mechanical strength under long-term high-temperature service, suitable for boiler, heat exchanger and power plant conditions.
Strong oxidation & corrosion resistance
As a typical 9Cr-1Mo chrome-moly alloy steel, it effectively resists high-temperature oxidation, sulfidation and medium corrosion.
High pressure bearing capacity
Seamless cold-drawn structure ensures uniform wall thickness and reliable pressure performance.
Good thermal conductivity & heat transfer efficiency
Ideal for heat exchangers, condensers and steam generators.
Excellent formability & weldability
Suitable for U-bending, expanding and welding without easy cracking.
Stable dimensional accuracy
Cold-drawn process guarantees tight tolerance for tube-to-tube sheet assembly.
Long service life & low maintenance cost
High structural stability reduces failure risk in harsh working environments
