The tube is intended for applications where dimensional fit-up and leakage screening are critical.

ASTM B111 controls OD by go/no-go ring gages, with micrometers permitted for point checks and ring gages governing disputes; wall by minimum-wall or nominal-wall ordering rules; length by plus tolerances; and leakage by hydrostatic or pneumatic test.
