Tubes are manufactured by cold drawn process, which results in improved strength and hardness due to work hardening. The surface finish is smoother compared to hot-rolled products, reducing the need for further processing or coating. ASTM A179 seamless heat exchanger tube is generally made through cold-drawn process. The cold-drawn manufacturing process not only improves dimensional accuracy but also enhances the mechanical properties of the tubes, making them stronger and more durable compared to hot-rolled tubes. This results in better performance under high-pressure conditions.
