ASTM B564 is a material standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials. It specifies the requirements for the chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment, testing methods, and dimensional tolerances of nickel alloy forgings (including flanges, fittings, valve parts, etc.). N06625 is the UNS designation, referring to a specific nickel based high-temperature alloy. Its more well-known commercial name is Inconel 625.

• Excellent corrosion resistance: Due to the high content of Mo and Ni in the chemical composition, ASTM B564 N06625 round bars have excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and excellent resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. At the same time, under the correct heat treatment state, ASTM B564 N06625 can maintain good resistance to intergranular corrosion, and has strong tolerance to a certain degree of organic media such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, salt, alkali, etc., and can also cope well with marine atmosphere and seawater corrosion.
• Excellent high temperature performance: ASTM B564 N06625 has high high temperature strength and creep resistance to about 1000°C / 1800°F, and excellent oxidation resistance and high temperature corrosion resistance to about 1100°C / 2000°F. At the same time, the fatigue strength and fracture toughness of ASTM B564 N06625 are also very good.
• Excellent weldability: ASTM B564 N06625 can be welded by TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW and other welding methods. Usually no heat treatment is required after welding, unless it is used in stress corrosion resistance environment, annealing may be required, and the welded joint can maintain good performance. At the same time, ASTM B564 N06625 has good cold and hot formability, but slightly inferior to stainless steel.
