Grade SA249 TP321 is one of those stainless steel alloys which are designed to be used for elevated temperature applications. Specifically speaking this grade of ASTM specified SA249 TP321 are usually used in piping systems involved in the superheater, boiler, heat exchanger, or condensers. The Stainless Steel 321 Erw is a titanium alloyed grade. Titanium is usually added in carbon steel grades that have a higher content of carbon such as the ASME SA249 Tp321, for carbide stabilization.
