Overwiew
 
A403 WP304L stainless steel seamless cap is a pressure-containing component used to close the end of a piping system, manufactured in strict compliance with ASME B16.9 dimensional standards. It features a "seamless structure" to eliminate potential weld line defects and undergoes  solution annealing treatment to restore the excellent intergranular corrosion resistance of low-carbon austenitic stainless steel (304L). It is particularly suitable for pressure piping systems with extremely high requirements for corrosion resistance and hygiene, such as those in the petrochemical, nuclear power, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
 

 

Forming process of Stainless steel cap


Due to being a "seamless" pipe cap, its manufacturing usually starts from steel pipes or plates and is processed through plastic forming, with the main process being stamping

  • Hot pressing: Place the heated blank into the mold for stamping. For thin-walled pipe caps, to prevent wrinkling, a two-stage forming method is used: first stamping into a disc shape, and then finally forming.
  • Cold pressing: Pressing through a mold at room temperature, suitable for pipe caps with thin wall thickness or small size.
  • Subsequent processing: After forming, it is necessary to perform groove processing (for on-site welding, usually according to ASME B16.25 standard) and necessary shaping to ensure dimensional accuracy
