ASME SB338 GR7 Titanium Alloy Steel Tube for Condenser and Boiler Application
ASME SB338 is a titanium and titanium alloy seamless/welded tube standard jointly developed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the International Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), equivalent to standard ASTM B338, covering the requirements for 28 grades titanium and titanium alloy tubes used for surface condensers, evaporators, and heat exchangers. Seamless tubes under this standard are mainly formed by cold rolling or hot extrusion, and are preferred for use in high-pressure systems, while welded tubes are mainly produced by roll welding and annealing, with lower costs and suitable for medium and low pressure working environments.

ASME SB338 Grade 7 is one of the most corrosion-resistant grades among titanium materials. The key reason is that palladium element has the characteristic of quickly and stably forming a passive film in corrosive environments, which is also the key advantage of GR.7 titanium alloy steel tubes. At the same time, titanium element provides a lightweight and high-strength foundation for tubes, and iron element controls the content of impurities in tubes.
