U tube bundle heat exchangers consist of a bundle of U-shaped tubes housed within a shell. The tubes are bent into a U shape, with both ends of each tube connected to a common tube sheet. One fluid flows through the tubes, while another fluid flows around the outside of the tubes within the shell. Heat is transferred between the two fluids through the tube walls.
