Yuhong Group Co., Ltd. is a global manufacturer of certified heat transfer equipment and pressure vessels. We specialize in the design and fabrication of a comprehensive range of products in accordance with ASME Section VIII and TEMA standards, including shell and tube heat exchangers (floating head, U-tube, fixed tubesheet), pressure vessels, and air coolers. We also supply replacement tube bundles, U-tubes, heat exchanger tubes, finned tubes, and components (tubesheets, baffles, heads). Equipment is certified with the ASME U-Stamp and supplied to clients worldwide.
The AES type floating head shell and tube heat exchanger is an optimal solution for process conditions requiring high reliability under significant thermal expansion, elevated temperatures, and frequent maintenance. The unit is designed and manufactured in strict compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1 and TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) standards. The use of 316L stainless steel (Russian analog 03Х17Н14М3) ensures excellent corrosion resistance and extended service life in aggressive environments.

Thermal Expansion Compensation. The floating head allows the tube bundle to expand and contract freely, independent of the shell. This completely eliminates thermal stress, which is critical for temperature differences exceeding 50°C between the two fluids.
Ease of Maintenance and Cleaning. The tube bundle is fully removable from the shell, providing access to the entire external surface of the tubes and the internal shell cavity for mechanical cleaning, inspection, or tube replacement. Recommended for services prone to fouling and deposit formation.
High Reliability in Severe Service. The design withstands significant pressure drops and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for the most critical process loops.
Corrosion Resistance of 316L Material. The low carbon content eliminates sensitization and intergranular corrosion after welding, while the molybdenum content ensures resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments.
Clad Tubesheets. For processes where the corrosive aggressiveness of media differs (e.g., corrosive fluid inside tubes, neutral fluid in shell), bimetallic tubesheets are utilized — a carbon steel base (SA350 LF2) with weld overlay or clad layer of 316L. This ensures cost-effectiveness without compromising reliability.
Baffle Configuration. Segmentally or double-segmentally arranged baffles optimize cross-flow velocity in the shell side, enhancing heat transfer efficiency and preventing flow-induced vibration of tubes.
Tube-to-Tubesheet Joints. Connections are executed using expansion, seal welding, or a combination of both, depending on operating conditions and required tightness.
Oil Refining (crude preheating, condensation, product cooling)
Petrochemical and Chemical Industries (heat exchange in reactor systems, vapor condensation, heat recovery)
Gas Processing (cooling and heating of process gases)
Power Generation (lube oil coolers, condensers, feedwater heaters)
Food and Pharmaceutical Industries (316L stainless steel construction for high purity requirements)
ASME U-Stamp Certification. Full compliance with ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1, recognized globally. Every unit undergoes rigorous quality control from design to final testing.
TEMA Compliance. Design and manufacturing in accordance with TEMA Class R (severe refinery service), C (general commercial), and B (chemical process).
Custom Engineering. Development of heat exchangers tailored to specific customer process parameters — thermal calculation, hydraulic analysis, mechanical design, and material selection.
Full-Cycle Supply. Manufacturing of heat transfer equipment, supply of spare parts and components, and after-sales support.
Global Logistics. Export experience to CIS countries, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Understanding of project-specific requirements and local regulatory compliance.
In floating head exchangers, the tube bundle can be fully removed for cleaning and inspection of both the inside and outside of the tubes. In U-tube designs, cleaning the inner surface of the bends is difficult. Floating heads are preferred for services with potential fouling issues.
A — Front End Stationary Head Type (Channel with removable cover); E — Shell Type (One-pass shell); S — Rear End Head Type (Floating head with backing device). This is one of the most common and maintenance-friendly configurations.
316L contains 2-3% molybdenum, which significantly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in environments containing chlorides and other aggressive components.
