The ASTM A182 F51 Blind RF Flange is a solid blind flange made of duplex stainless steel, primarily used to seal pipe ends or as a maintenance access point. RF indicates that its sealing face is raised, which is the most common sealing face type. This product is manufactured strictly according to ASME B16.5 and other dimensional standards.

Blind flanges have many uses. For example, they can permanently or temporarily prevent media leakage or foreign matter ingress. Compared to one-time welded heads, they are removable, facilitating future modifications. Installing a blind flange at an adjacent flange before servicing equipment can create a safe physical barrier. They are also used during hydraulic or pneumatic pressure testing of pipelines.
