Nickel Alloy 625 Flange , ASTM B564 Inconel 625 / 2.4856 / UNS N06625 WNRF Flange
WNRF (Weld Neck Raised Face) -- The long tapered hub provides reinforcement against high pressure and extreme thermal cycling. The raised face (typically 0.06" or 0.25" height per ASME B16.5) ensures gasket compression. While this flange is nominally a forged, solid‑solution strengthened Ni‑Cr‑Mo component (with niobium addition) manufactured to ASTM B564, its real‑world performance is governed by subtleties that experienced engineers recognise but are seldom printed in catalogues. YUHONG provide the flanges strictly comply with material standard and production standard, with complete inspection facility.
Corrosion Resistance (Key Advantages)
Outstanding resistance to oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids (e.g., phosphoric, nitric, sulfuric).
Excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments (PREN > 45) due to the high Mo + Cr content.
High resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
Excellent resistance to oxidation and scaling up to ~980 °C (1800 °F) in continuous service.
Resistant to a wide range of corrosive media including seawater, sour gas (H₂S/CO₂), and flue gas desulfurization systems.

Beyond simply "connecting pipes," this flange serves three critical mechanical and metallurgical functions:
Geometric Stress Absorption: The long, tapered Weld Neck hub performs a vital mechanical function—it gradually transitions the abrupt stiffness of the bolted flange ring into the thinner pipe wall. This dramatically reduces the peak stress concentration at the weld root, making it the only flange type suitable for cyclic loading (thermal expansion/contraction, vibration, and pressure surges).
High-Integrity Sealing Base: The Raised Face (RF) provides a narrow, controlled compression area for spiral-wound or jacketed gaskets. In high-pressure classes (≥ 600#), this design minimizes gasket creep relaxation because the rigid hub keeps the bolting plane stable even when internal pressure tries to "pry" the flanges apart.
Metallurgical Transition Bridge: It serves as a weldable transition point, allowing a high-alloy bore (resistant to process fluid) to be joined to downstream components while maintaining full corrosion resistance right through the heat-affected zone (HAZ)—something lesser alloys lose at the weld.
Applications
Oil & Gas: Offshore topside piping, subsea manifolds, flowlines, and choke/kill lines.
Chemical Processing: Reactors and piping handling hot chlorides, acetic acid, or mixed acids.
Aerospace & Marine: Exhaust ducts and seawater cooling systems.
Power Generation: High-temperature steam lines and nuclear reactor core components.
