ASTM A790 UNS S32205 / 1.4462 Duplex Steel Pipe is a duplex stainless steel pipe manufactured according to ASTM A790/A790M - Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Ferritic/Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe. The grade UNS S32205 is a 22Cr-5Ni-3Mo-N duplex stainless steel, commonly known as Duplex 2205. Its European equivalent is EN 1.4462/X2CrNiMoN22-5-3. ASTM A790 UNS S32205 seamless pipe is a high-strength duplex stainless steel pipe with excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. It is typically supplied in the solution-annealed, pickled, and passivated condition, with sizes from NPS 1/4” to 24” and beyond, in schedules such as 10S, 40S, and 80S. Its combination of strength and corrosion resistance makes it a preferred material for offshore, chemical, desalination, marine, and petrochemical applications.
