ASTM A815 WPS32205 Duplex Steel Elbow – Duplex 2205 90° LR B16.9 Pipe Fitting is a wrought butt-weld pipe fitting made from Duplex 2205 stainless steel (UNS S32205 / S31803). It is a 90-degree long-radius elbow whose material requirements follow ASTM A815 grade WP-S32205 / WPS32205, and whose dimensions and tolerances follow ASME B16.9. It is used to change the direction of a pipeline by 90°, connected by butt welding. It is typically used in oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, seawater, desalination, pulp and paper, and offshore piping systems where high strength and resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking are required.

Advantages of Duplex 2205

• High yield strength (about twice that of 316L)

• Excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking

• Good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance

• Cost-effective compared to super duplex and nickel alloys

• Good weldability with ER2209 filler

Note: For high-temperature service, Duplex 2205 is generally limited to about 300°C (572°F) due to risk of 475°C embrittlement and sigma phase formation.
