ASTM A276 SS410 Stainless Steel Round Bar is a solid, round-section stainless steel bar manufactured under ASTM A276/A276M, the standard specification for stainless steel bars and shapes for general corrosion resistance and high-temperature service. Grade 410 — also designated UNS S41000 and commonly called AISI 410 — is a martensitic chromium stainless steel. It contains approximately 11.5–13.5% chromium and is magnetic and hardenable by heat treatment. Unlike austenitic grades such as 304/316, 410 can be strengthened and hardened through quenching and tempering, giving a useful combination of moderate corrosion resistance, good strength, hardness, and machinability. ASTM A276 410 round bars are commonly supplied in hot-finished or cold-finished condition, in annealed, tempered, or hardened-and-tempered conditions, and with a variety of surface finishes such as black, pickled, turned, peeled, cold-drawn bright, ground, or polished.
