What is A694 F52 Weld-Neck Flange

ASTM A694 Grade F52 weld-neck flange is a high-strength forged steel flange made to the A694 specification and designed to be butt-welded to pipe using a long, tapered hub. Grade F52 indicates a minimum yield strength of ~52 ksi, making it suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature oil & gas, refinery, and pipeline applications. Typically manufactured to ASME/ANSI flange dimensions (B16.5/B16.47), these flanges are chosen when higher strength and improved fatigue resistance are required; order with size, pressure class, face type, and required heat treatment/testing specified.

Grade F52 has the following characteristics:

This alloy is composed of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. It has strong strength and corrosion resistance, mainly used for chemical processing, petrochemical industry, and underwater equipment. It has strong chloride corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion. It has high resistance to spot corrosion, crack corrosion, and general corrosion due to its high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content.
