ASTM AB564 N08031, ALLOY 1.4562, UNS N08031 ,ALLOY 31 STEEL FLANGE
ASTM B564 specification covers nickel alloy flanges. These alloys are classifed into different grades according to their chemical composition. A chemical analysis shall be employed on each alloy in order to determine its chemical composition. Grain size and mechanical properties like tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation shall be measured. A tension test and nondestructive ultrasonic test shall be done on each specimen.
Alloy 31 is a nickel, chromium and molybdenum stainless steel with nitrogen and copper additions. It combines moderate tensile strength and high ductility with excellent corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid, reducing and oxidizing media and has strong resistance to corrosion and erosion corrosion in phosphoric environment.
