ASTM A105 slip-on flanges are widely used in piping systems due to their ease of installation and cost-effectiveness. A105 flanges have excellent weldability, but pre- and post-weld heat treatment may be needed depending on the thickness and specific service conditions to avoid issues like hydrogen embrittlement. Unlike some other materials, A105 carbon steel does not require heat treatment for standard applications. However, for specific requirements, it may undergo heat treatment to enhance certain properties.
