ASTM A213 / ASME SA213 specification is for ferritic steel TP444, austenitic stainless steel TP304/L/H/N, TP310S/H, TP316L/H/Ti, TP321/H, TP347/H ... and alloy steel T5, T9, T11, T12, T22, T91, T92 ... It generally leads to a better corrosion resistance due to the maintenance of the protective oxide layer.

Quenching Process

After solution annealing, the tube is usually quenched in water to rapidly cool it down. This is important to prevent carbide precipitation which can lead to decreased corrosion resistance.
