Its Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) composition – rich in nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper – works by forming a stable protective surface film that resists attack from sulfuric, phosphoric, and acetic acids as well as chloride pitting. The buttweld ends are welded directly to pipes, providing a smooth, crevice-free, full-strength joint that cannot leak or loosen over time.
