• The Back-Cut (Reverse Bevel) Design: The back-cut feature positions the primary cutting edge on the internal curvature of the needle tip. This "reverse" geometry ensures that the sharpest cutting edge interacts with the tissue during the final stage of venipuncture, significantly reducing the tissue plugging. It creates a smoother entry trajectory and minimizes trauma to the vein wall, making it ideal for fragile or sclerotic veins.
• The Notch (Side Port/Hole): Positioned proximally (just behind) the primary back-cut bevel, the notch acts as an auxiliary fluid pathway. In IV applications, if the primary lumen becomes occluded by a venous valve or the vessel wall, the notch ensures continuous fluid flow.
