ASTM A335 P9 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel grade used for seamless piping in high-temperature service. Also specified as ASME SA335 P9, this material is designed for pressure-containing applications where elevated temperature strength and resistance to oxidation are critical.
With approximately 8-10% chromium and 0.90-1.10% molybdenum, P9 belongs to the 9Cr-1Mo family of chrome moly alloy steels. This combination makes it suitable for demanding piping systems in power generation, refineries, petrochemical plants, and other high-temperature process facilities.
