When to choose a specific EN 1092-1 flange type

Type 01 – Plate flange:
Low pressure, low cost, slip-on welding, flat face (FF). Good for water, low-pressure utilities, non-critical service.
Type 11 – Welding neck flange:
High pressure, high temperature, cyclic loading, critical service. Better strength and fatigue resistance.
Type 05 – Blind flange:
For blanking off pipe ends, valves, or vessel openings.
Other types: Loose plate, lapped pipe end, threaded, etc., depending on connection and service
