Slip-on flange means the flange bore is slightly larger than the outside diameter of the matching pipe; the pipe slides through the flange hub, then fillet-welded on both sides (back side and sealing face side) to fix the assembly. The raised face is a machined concentric raised ring on the flange face to compress gaskets and form a tight seal. The ASTM A182 F304L Stainless Steel Slip-On Raised-Face Flange PN16 EN 1092-1 combines a low-carbon 18Cr-8Ni austenitic forged stainless steel with the economical slip-on flange design and EN 1092-1 PN16 dimensions.
