An ASME SA266 Gr.2N carbon steel hydro flange is a heavy-duty forged carbon steel flange made from ASME SA266/SA266M Grade 2, normalized (“N”) steel. It is typically used in hydropower and large water-conveyance systems—penstocks, turbine inlets, main inlet valves, pump-turbine casings, draft tubes, surge tanks, cooling-water pipelines, and large valve/pipeline connections. It is not a standard pipe flange only; most ASME SA266 Gr.2N carbon steel hydro flanges are custom large-diameter forged flanges for TEMA shell-and-tube heat exchangers, vessel heads, channel boxes and heavy pressure assemblies, not just B16.5 standard pipe flanges. All raw material is hot-worked forging, not rolled plate, to guarantee internal soundness, grain uniformity and high-pressure integrity.
