Test Specification Details
Tube End Requirements Free from burrs, weld buildup, and discontinuities inside and outside.
Fin Interruptions Not more than 2 interruptions per tube, with adjacent fin ends connected by stapling.
Loose Fins Limit Total number of loose fins shall not exceed six per interruption.
Groove Checks Regular checks of groove depth and minimum wall thickness during production.
Pull Test Requirement Finned tubes shall be subjected to a pull test if specified by the contractor.
Testing Frequency One out of every 100 tubes tested at two points no less than 3m apart.
Fin Cutting Requirement Fin shall be cut leaving a pie-shaped section with a root length of approximately 12mm.
Weight Application for Testing Clamp section and apply weights up to 2.3kg for at least one minute.
Failure Protocol If a tube fails, test a location within 0.9m. If it fails again, test another tube from the lot.
Lot Acceptance Criteria If the second tube fails, the entire lot of 100 tubes shall be rejected.
