1. Base Tube Material: Monel 400 (UNS N04400)

 

Composition:

  • Nickel (Ni): 63–67%

  • Copper (Cu): 28–34%

  • Iron (Fe): ≤2.0%

  • Manganese (Mn): ≤2.0%

  • Carbon (C): ≤0.3%

  • Sulfur (S): ≤0.024%

Mechanical Properties:

  • Tensile Strength: 550–780 MPa
  • Yield Strength: 240–550 MPa
  • Elongation: 35–50% (at 50 mm gauge length)
  • Hardness: 70–90 HRB (Rockwell B)

Temperature Limits:

  • Continuous Service: Up to 600°C (1112°F)
  • Low-Temperature Use: Maintains ductility down to -200°C (-328°F).

Corrosion Resistance:

  • Resists chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pitting, and crevice corrosion.
