High-Performance Embedded G-Type Finned Tubes for Efficient Heat Transfer


Our Embedded G-Type Finned Tubes (also known as G-Fin or Grooved Finned Tubes) deliver superior heat transfer efficiency in demanding industrial applications. These tubes feature a seamless ASTM A179 low-carbon steel base tube with aluminum fins mechanically embedded into a precisely machined helical groove on the tube surface.

This robust mechanical bond ensures excellent thermal contact, high temperature resistance (up to approximately 350–400°C), and long-term durability under thermal cycling and vibration. Manufacturers and engineers widely choose these tubes for air-cooled heat exchangers, condensers, and other heat recovery systems.

Base Tube Material: ASTM A179 / ASME SA179 seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tubes, ideal for heat exchangers and condensers due to excellent formability, weldability, and thermal conductivity.

Finned Tube Structure and Embedding Process


The G-Type embedded design creates a strong, permanent mechanical bond:


  • Base Tube: Seamless A179 carbon steel tube provides pressure resistance and structural integrity.


  • Fins: Continuous aluminum strip wound under tension.


  • Embedding Process: A helical groove (approx. 0.25–0.5 mm deep) is plowed into the tube wall. The fin base inserts into the groove, and displaced tube metal rolls back to lock the fin securely. This results in excellent metal-to-metal contact with minimal thermal resistance.


This process ensures fins stay firmly attached even under high temperatures, vibration, or thermal expansion, outperforming wrapped or L-type fins in reliability.
