ASME SA182 F316Ti / UNS S31635 Stainless Steel Flange SORF Nozzle Flange is a descriptive designation for a forged titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel slip-on raised-face flange, made to ASME SA182, from grade 316Ti (UNS S31635), and used as a nozzle flange for connecting a nozzle opening on a pressure vessel, tank, or piping system to a mating flange. For high-pressure, high-cyclic, or high-nozzle-load applications, a weld neck flange is often preferred.

Key characteristics of 316Ti

Similar corrosion resistance to 316/316L, with molybdenum improving resistance to pitting and chlorides.
Titanium stabilization ties up carbon, reducing sensitization and improving intergranular corrosion resistance after welding or high-temperature exposure.
Good high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance.
Weldable and machinable by standard stainless steel methods.
Not immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
A slip-on flange has lower fatigue strength than a weld neck flange, so it is generally less suitable for severe cyclic service or very high nozzle loads.
