ASTM A312 TP316L Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe for Oil and Gas Industry

1. Product Overview

ASTM A312 TP316L stainless steel seamless pipe is an austenitic stainless steel pipe manufactured in accordance with ASTM A312/A312M. It is designed for general corrosive service and high-temperature applications where the specified material properties meet the requirements of the operating environment.

TP316L, designated as UNS S31603, is a low-carbon chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel grade. Its molybdenum content contributes to improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments compared with conventional TP304L stainless steel.

Low Carbon Content

The specified molybdenum content of 2.00–3.00% contributes to improved resistance to localized corrosion, including pitting and crevice corrosion, compared with conventional 304L stainless steel in many environments.
