ASTM A376 TP347H High Frequency Welded Finned Tube with Carbon Steel Fins
for High-Temperature Waste Heat Recovery in Petrochemical & Power Plant Economizers
This high frequency welded (HFW) finned tube is engineered for continuous high-temperature service in waste heat recovery units, economizers, and process gas heaters. The ASTM A376 TP347H seamless base tube delivers superior creep strength and oxidation resistance under prolonged exposure above 600°C, while the carbon steel (CS) fins provide a cost-efficient increase in external heat transfer surface area. The result is improved thermal efficiency, reduced tube metal temperature, and lower overall material cost compared with full stainless-steel finned solutions.
In petrochemical flue-gas heat recovery and power-plant economizer applications, this combination solves three common operational problems: insufficient heat recovery from high-temperature exhaust streams, accelerated oxidation and creep failure of standard carbon-steel tubes, and the high capital cost of using stainless fins throughout.
The tube consists of a seamless ASTM A376 TP347H austenitic stainless-steel base tube with continuously high-frequency resistance-welded solid carbon-steel fins.
The fin strip is helically wound and simultaneously welded to the outer surface of the tube by high-frequency electric resistance welding. The process creates a continuous metallurgical bond with weld integrity typically exceeding 95 %, ensuring efficient heat conduction from fin to tube wall with minimal thermal resistance. Unfinned (bare) ends are left as specified for welding or tube-sheet expansion.

Finished tubes are cleaned, lightly oiled for temporary corrosion protection, and packed in wooden cases or steel-frame crates with protective end caps. Bundles are secured to prevent movement during ocean transport.
Standard export packing is suitable for container or bulk vessel shipment. Custom packing (plastic wrapping, desiccant, or export-grade wooden boxes) is available on request.
